Variete is one of the highlights of TempleCon 2011, a sensory feast of performances in the glorious Rotunda room by top-notch Retro-Futurist artists from throughout New England, including: Tempest, Neylan, Di’Ahna, Miss Bettysioux Tailor, Mr. Scratch, the Boston Babydolls, Samara, JayLee, Serendipity Galore, Casey Lumb, Fong, Matkaare, Miss Betsey, Julyana, Ameena, Lunares, LadyMissIris, and Eva Destruction.

Let Miss Iris take you through everything you need to build a burlesque routine, from concept to costuming to choreography. At the end of the series, you get to perform in a burlesque recital in a supportive, fun atmosphere for your friends, family (if you want them there), and a bunch of us old-timers. Join Bettysioux Tailor, Serendipity Galore, Baroness Blitzen Von Schtupp, and Lady Naboombu for a night of games, surprises, and, of course, hot and hilarious burlesque. This ain’t your usual Chifferobe. The show’s curator, Kristen Minsky, has been teaching a class at RISD entitled “Cabaret and the Avante Garde,” and her students convinced her to let them loose. This installment of Chifferobe is going to be a little more…well…avante garde. In addition to a bevy of RISD students showcasing their burlesque and variety skills, there will be performances by Miss Wensday and Baby Oil.
